Vivian Edwards: “This scene could truly be a moment from my own farm. The composition was pieced together using several photos of different flowers and a weathered fence board, with memories of summers when kittens would arrive. Mama cats would have their litters in the barn, but as soon as the kittens grew old enough to explore (and inevitably get into mischief), she’d move them up to the farmhouse porch. Every time, they’d arrive needing a little extra milk and care—these two were especially endearing, my “wormy little kittens,” as I fondly called them, always in need of attention but far too precious not to care for.”
