Meet Vonda!
From my earliest childhood memories, I've been captivated by color. Bright, vibrant hues (especially red) have always stirred something deep within me. I still recall the awe I felt at three years old, seeing the sparkling white snow and feeling an irresistible urge to touch it. These early experiences ignited a lifelong passion for color, texture, and the intricate details that make life so beautiful.
Nature has always been my sanctuary, a place where I feel closest to God's creations. Whether it’s the cheerful song of a bird, the quiet presence of a turtle, or the intricate patterns on mushrooms, I find endless inspiration in the world around me. Owls, in particular, have a special place in my heart, embodying the mystery and wisdom that I seek to capture in my work.
As a little girl, my love for art began with simple tools—pens and crayons—but it wasn't long before I yearned for more. At 13, I had the opportunity to take real art lessons, a dream come true that set me on the path I walk today. Two years later, fate introduced me to Vivian Edwards, a true artist who lived just down the road from friends I knew through school.
Vivian’s home, Misty Valley Drive, was more than just a farm—it was a magical place that fueled my imagination and creativity. I remember the excitement that would build as I rode down the driveway, seeing the beautiful horses that lived there. The little girl inside me came alive, not only with the thrill of learning to ride but with the joy of being surrounded by the natural beauty and rich colors of the farm. Even the smell of the barn and the simple pleasure of mucking out horse stalls became cherished parts of my artistic journey.
Living and learning at Misty Valley Drive under Vivian's guidance was an experience that shaped who I am today, both as a person and as an artist. Those years working at The Farmhouse Gallery and immersing myself in the rhythms of farm life connected me deeply to the land, to nature, and to the creative spirit within me.
Now, as a grown woman and an artist in my own right, I feel incredibly blessed to be able to channel these rich memories and life lessons into my work. Each piece I create is a reflection of the beauty I've seen, the joy I've felt, and the profound gratitude I have for the journey and path that God has placed me on that brought me here. Through my art, I strive to share the wonder of the world as I see it—full of color, life, and the small, often overlooked details that make it so extraordinary.
